Career Development Events
Career and Leadership events help students learn and practice skills they will take with them after high school and prepare them for future jobs and life skills in everyday life. Public Speaking is a huge part in most jobs, either being able to prepare or to go off the top of your head. Having the opportunity to learn and practice at a young age will make for even successful future
Career Development Events:
Ag Biotechnology
In this CDE, you will be placed in a group of three that will solve a multi-system agriculture problem. The team works to solve the problem and prepare a report. Additionally students complete a written exam covering the 5 agricultural technology. The team that preforms the highest in this CDE demonstrates the understanding of modern technology.

Ag Communication
In this CDE, your group will be assigned a topic from an FFA member over your communication and technology skills. From there you must create a well thought our presentation

Ag Mechanics
In this CDE, your team will have a 15 minute written exam and a 15 minute activity displaying your knowledge of natural resources, machinery, equipment, and structural system.
​
Agronomy
In this CDE, you will learn and test your ability over crops. In this contest there is three main parts, hey, silage, and seed evaluation with a written examination portion. These three section are required to fill out on your own with no help from your team members. After that you and your team our given a problem that needs to be solved. The top three individual scores will be added to the teams to come up with your final score.

Leadership Development Events:
Ag Broadcasting
In this LDE, you must prepare a radio broadcast about an interest of your choice. You will be given 30 minutes to prepare for your 5-minute broadcast. This will allow creativity and social skills to stand out to the judges.

Chapter Website
In this LDE, you must create a functional website for your FFA Chapter, it must contain present officers, chapter members, activities and extra information to give a good understanding about your chapter and what FFA is all about. To be able to do well on this, you must be able to put creativity and skills with computers to be able to make it functional for users.

Creed Speaking
In this LDE, you must memorize the FFA and present in front of judges. One of the judges will be following along and making sure every word is true to the creed. You will also do better on this event if you do it with passion and pride.

Greenhand FFA Quiz
In this LDE, you will be given 100 questions these questions will come from the FFA handbook, manual, and Iowa FFA Website.
